A church in Lower Hutt

Hutt Valley Church is a new and growing congregation of City on a Hill, meeting every Sunday at 4pm at Waiwhetu Uniting Church, 6 Trafalgar Street, Waiwhetu, Lower Hutt.

City on a Hill is an independent evangelical Christian church. We believe the Bible is God's word and want Jesus and his word to shape everything we do as a church. We are part of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches.

Whether you’ve been part of a church for years, are new to the Hutt Valley, or are simply interested in finding out more about Christianity, you’d be very welcome to join us.

What to expect

Our Sunday service runs for about an hour and a half. We read the Bible, hear it explained in the sermon, pray together, and sing songs in praise to God.

We want to be a church centred on Jesus and shaped by God’s word, where people can grow in their faith, ask questions, and encourage one another as we follow Jesus together.

Church for kids and families

There is Kids Church each Sunday for preschool and school-aged tamariki, where we teach the good news about Jesus in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

Children are also very welcome to stay with their parents during the service.

Dinner together

Each week we share dinner together after the service. It’s an important part of life at Hutt Church and a relaxed opportunity to get to know people, catch up, and encourage one another.

If you’re visiting for the first time, you’re very welcome to stay for dinner too.

Where to find us

We meet at Waiwhetu Uniting Church, 6 Trafalgar Street, Waiwhetu, Lower Hutt.

There is parking on site as well as street parking nearby.
