Easter is always a good time to stop and reflect on Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. It is also a great opportunity to share the meaning of this period with those who will stop their work for a few days but not know why. Any of our services this weekend would be a great to bring guests along to learn about the meaning of Easter from the Bible.

Easter is still a significant time in our country and the whole world, even if many of our friends and neighbours are unaware of why. They'll know that if they're working or studying (or just trying to buy groceries!) that our nation takes a day off on Good Friday to coincide with Jesus death on the Cross for the sins of the world. Add to this Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (and Easter Tuesday for all the teachers out there!) to celebrate the resurrection of Christ.

Although many people may not be celebrating the victory Christ has won over death any more than they celebrate the Queen on Queen’s Birthday, it is a great testament to our nation’s Christian heritage, and the many faithful Christians we stand in line with over the centuries in our hope of the resurrection.

Please be praying this Easter that as we all stop there will be many people who, maybe for the first time, consider Jesus. Pray they might come to know why the death of a carpenter from a small town in the Middle East 2000 years ago is such a significant event in the history of our world, and that they would be convicted of their need to know God and be reconciled to Him.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3

Grace & peace,
Andrew
