At our Carols service on Sunday we had over 50 guests come and hear the good news about Jesus at Christmas! Some of those guest have never been to church before and never heard the Bible taught.
More than 10 of those guest took home a Bible to read for themselves! What better gift could we give them than God's life changing word.
Often in the lead up to a big event like Carols I wonder, 'Is it really is worth it?' 'Do people actually move towards faith in Jesus at things like this?'
The answer is a resounding yes!
A few weeks ago we baptised four people into the faith we share in Jesus. Of those four people, one of them had their first contact with City on a Hill at the Wreath Making Night last year.
Since then they've come to faith in Jesus, become a part of City on a Hill as they grow as a follower of Jesus.
So now is the time to be praying for our guest and friends and family who came to carols. If you're not sure what the next steps might be, we are running the HOPE Explored Course over January. See below for more details.
"Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
because he has come to his people and redeemed them.
He has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of his servant David
(as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),
salvation from our enemies
and from the hand of all who hate us—
to show mercy to our ancestors
and to remember his holy covenant,
the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
to rescue us from the hand of our enemies,
and to enable us to serve him without fear
in holiness and righteousness before him all our days."
Luke 1:68-75
Grace & peace,
Andrew
