If you've been at Morning Church this year you will have notice that things have grown quite considerably. We began the year with an average attendance each Sunday of about 120. Recently it has been nudging almost 200 people gathering each week to hear God's word, pray, praise and share in community together.
Part of being wholehearted followers of Jesus means that we will be a church that welcomes people into a loving community. The love God has shown us will overflow in love for others.
Jesus said in John's Gospel,
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
As we welcome new people into our church whānau a key part is the Belonging Course which has been running for the past three weeks. We've had more than 40 people come to Tory Street to build relationships, hear from God's word and be challenged to be wholehearted followers of Jesus.
If you want to dig deeper (or refresh you memory) you can have a listen to our Wholehearted sermon series here. (Tip - Listen to them in date order beginning with Magnification!)
Can I continue to challenge us all to live out Jesus desire for his people to love one another? Who can you welcome or include this week as we seek to multiply and mature wholehearted followers of Jesus together?
Grace & peace,
Andrew
