As many of you may know, the Southertons have been in isolation this week because COVID managed to sneak into our family. (We're all doing well so far. Thanks for asking!)

It has meant that I've been back to working from home and unable to be physically present with the team at Tory Street. If you know me then you will know that this isn't my preferred way of being! (Did someone say FOMO?)

That said, I've been very thankful to God for the team he has gathered to serve our church. Each member of the staff team brings their unique gifts, skills and experience to serve God and his people. God has been very kind to our church to bless us with such a gifted and functional team and I often say to Adele how much of a privilege it is to lead them and serve with them.

When I think about the staff team we have at City on a Hill I want to echo Paul's words to Philemon,

"I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.

Please join me in encouraging them and giving thanks to them this week.

Grace & peace,
Andrew
