Some have said, “that church camps provide 6 months of relationship building over a weekend.”

I definitely found this to be the case last weekend on Night Church Weekend Away. 45 members of Night Church went away for the weekend and it was a great time of relationship building with each other and deepening in our relationship with Jesus. It was so encouraging that 20 of the people who came on the Night Church Weekend Away were there for the first time, and for many of them, it was their first Christian camp ever.

The theme of the weekend was, Living for the Upside Down Kingdom. We dug into Mark’s Gospel and thought about passages like:

Mark 8:35: For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it

Mark 10:15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.

Mark 10:43-44 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,
and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.

I was personally challenged to remember that following Jesus is not just a decision to follow him, but it’s a decision to unfollow myself. I no longer shape my world, but he does. I was also encouraged by the incredible reality and blessing of the family of faith we are brought into when he trust Jesus and how life in his Kingdom is infinitely worth it now and gloriously worth it in the future.

Over the weekend it was also a highlight hearing many stories of how God has transformed the lives of Night Church members. It was a real joy to see all who came away eager to keep treasuring Jesus and growing in their relationships with their brothers and sisters in Christ.

So let me ask you, is that something you want? Do you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus? Do you want to grow deeper in your relationships with your church family?

Well, if it is, there is another opportunity coming up at our whole church camp. This is happening on the King’s Birthday Weekend (30th May-1st June) and the theme this year is, The End of the World as we know it. For more details check out our website.

I hope you can make it, as it’s going to be a great weekend growing closer together and closer with our Saviour Jesus.

Grace and Peace,
Paul
