I'm excited to let you know that we have found a new venue for Night Church!
As Roger Moses said to me this morning, "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose“. Or, if you don't speak French and aren't familiar with works of the French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr, "The more things change, the more they stay the same".
That's because the new venue for Night Church happens to be the old venue for City on a Hill, the Tararua Tramping Club at 4 Moncrieff Street, Mount Victoria.
At the end of 2014 it was clear that church had outgrown our lounge room so we moved to the tramping club in Feb 2015. City on a Hill met there for about 7 months by which time we were ready to launch and had secure space at St Mark's Church School.
The tramping club is a great next step in the growth of Night Church and its ability to multiply and mature followers of Jesus.
It's a 6 minute walk from the Tory Street Hub and has all the major bus routes right on the doorstep. It also has a kitchen (with a dishwasher!) so we can continue the famous Night Church dinners. It's just the right size, not too big and not too small. We can imagine that we will be able to stay there until we grow to about 100 people.
The plan is to meet there for the first time next Sunday (12th Feb) as we launch for the year. We will then have to retreat back to Tory St for one Sunday (19th Feb) because they have a prior booking. From 26th Feb onwards we have a clear run for the rest of 2023
Will you please join us in giving thanks to God for his provision and answered prayer?
Grace & peace,
Andrew
