This week we have been working through the implications for our church community with the move to the Red setting under the Covid Protection Framework. As we have done previously, we're being guided by the following deep desires:
We want to encourage all people to be engaged with our church gathering each week - whether that is in-person or via the livestream.
We want to care for all people in our church as well as be considerate members of our wider community.
We want to see people come to know Jesus and be welcomed into the community of City on a Hill.
With those desires, it seemed clear to us that if there is the ability to still be safely meeting together in-person then we should work out how to make that happen. We also appreciate and support that each person will have their own circumstances that will shape the level of caution they are choosing the exercise at the moment.
The plan for this Sunday is to run our regular services - usual times and locations. The only change is that 6pm will now require a Vaccine Pass.
We will have the following additional measures in place to make sure we are keeping things as safe as possible:
Registration for all services with COVID screening questions.
Caps on the number of places available at each service.
No morning tea served onsite - both 9:30am & 10am will be encouraged to leave the premises promptly with BYO morning tea in the park (weather looks good at the moment!).
More spacing between seat.
Asking that everyone wear a mask as much as is practical.
We're expecting that as the situation evolves people's personal circumstances will change as well. This means that the next few months will be messy but we're committed to gathering (as we can) as God's people, being shaped by the hearing of his word and continuing to hold out the only really and lasting hope that is in Jesus.
We will be in touch about any changes and what this all means for our Community Groups beginning for the year.
If you have any questions or needs at the moment, please don't hesitate to be in touch.
Grace & peace,
Andrew
P.S. The Lego Fun Day is still on!
