I've heard people say there are two times you can go fishing. You can decide to go when it is convenient for you and fits your schedule. Or you can chose go out when the fish are biting and you've got more chance of success. It is similar in the life of a church on mission.

At City on a Hill we've found that January is month filled with opportunities for mission and welcoming new people to our church community.

Over the past two Sundays we have had dozens of visitors to our services. We've also had the chance to run our Summer Training Intensive (fake Equip), our Leaders in Training group has already begun and our Summer Interns are back and raring to go.

We're also looking forward to the Lego Fun Day, Life Explored Bible Study and launching for the year on the first Sunday in February.

Paul instructs Timothy with these words,
"In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction."

Because Jesus is returning and he's bringing with him the fulfilment of the Kingdom of God, were to take the opportunities God presents to us when they come. And from our experience, January is a great time to be fishers of people for the Kingdom of God.

Grace & peace,
Andrew
