Pop-up Church Hutt Valley

Often I am frustrated that our church doesn't have a building of our own. A home to host all our services and ministries that we can leave set up and ready to use.

But our lack of a permanent base does mean that we can be nimble and flexible and do things a bit more creatively.

So, this weekend we're loading up the church van and taking Morning Church on the road with POP-UP CHURCH in the Hutt Valley.

The plan and the prayer for this new adventure is to take Morning Church to the local areas where many of you live. We pray this will be a great opportunity to invite friends and family who may not have been able to make it all the way into Newtown on a Sunday.

For those that live in the Hutt Valley, it would be great if you could join us along with your guests. There will be coffee and kids church and our regular Sunday service. Please register that you are coming so that we can keep track of the numbers - cityonahill.co.nz/pop-up

If you don't live in the Hutt Valley, the service will be streamed online as per usual. We really encourage you to host or attend a watch party so that you can share in fellowship while we are unable to gather all together as a church. And don't worry, next Sunday we are doing POP-UP CHURCH in Johnsonville at the Waiora Hub at Alex Moore Park.

During these COVID times, it can be tempted to become insular and inward-looking but we read in the Bible this vision Jesus has for his church,

‘You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.' Matt 5:14-16

Please be praying that we will be that 'city on a hill' which gives light to the world and gives glory to God!

Grace & peace,
Andrew
