The office has been a hive of activity this week as we prepare for Church Camp this weekend. Booklets have been printed, rooms have been allocated, sessions have been planned, kids programmes organised, the coffee machine has been packed and many more important jobs have been done.
It is entirely possible to run an amazing camp where those attending have a great time together but return home no deeper in our faith in Christ.
The reason we plan sessions, print booklets and organise kids programmes and everything else is so that, as a church and as individuals, on camp we might be transformed by the word of God as we gather as a community for an extended period of time. That's why we go on church camp.
So will you pray with me that God will work by his Spirit, through his Word in our community this weekend?
And we pray this so that Colossians 3 will be realised among us while we are away and long after we return.
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossian 3:15-17)
Grace & peace,
Andrew
