This week I had the privilege of serving the kids who attended our Circus Mania kids club – the holiday programme for primary aged kids. We run this event every year with the hope that many of the kids who attend will hear the good news about Jesus and choose to put their trust in him or grow in their love for him.

This year’s theme was all about the circus and we had face painting, hula hoops, mini putt, catchy songs and a drama that certainly entertained with a clown, a juggler and a ring master.

What a great joy it is to see children start to learn about Jesus. The simple truth that our sin is big, but God’s forgiveness is even bigger is something we all need reminding of in our faith.

The verse for kids club this year was taken from Titus 3:5 “He saved us not because of righteous things we’ve done. He saved us by his mercy through Jesus Christ the son”. What good news Jesus brings us!

As I reflect back on my childhood growing up in church it was significant events like conferences, camp and kids clubs that solidified my belief in Jesus.

Please continue to pray for the kids that attended the kids club that their knowledge and love of Jesus would grow. Pray especially for those kids who do not know Jesus – pray that the message of the gospel would take root and grow in their hearts.

And when kids club comes around next year, why not consider taking just a couple days off to serve the kids as a leader. I can say from my experience that it is a blast, but most importantly it is an incredible opportunity to serve God as He continues to grow his kingdom.

Grace and peace
