Often I am frustrated that our church doesn't have a building of our own. A home to host all our services and ministries that we can leave set up and ready to use.
But our lack of a permanent base does mean that we can be nimble and flexible and do things a bit more creatively.

Grief at not gathering
A really challenging part of life at the moment is dealing with constantly changing rules and expectations.
Sometimes those changes are small and of little consequence.
'Do I need to wear a mask here?'
'Is my favourite cafe open yet?'
There are some changes that do have a significant impact on our lives.
'Can the kids go back to school or can I go back to the office?'
Feeling fatigued?
It is right about now that the fatigue starts to set in.
The novelty of lockdown has worn off, the joys of spending time at home are becoming to feel a bit more like imprisonment, we begin to miss the things we love doing outside the house, there is only so much Zoom you can handle and yet the finish line isn't quite in sight. […]
Keeping on going
As we've descended into lockdown there are only two groups that I am a part of that have committed to continuing to meet together even when we physically can't gather.
Both groups speak of 'keeping each other accountable', 'motivating one another to keep going' and 'not letting something important get put on the back burner'. And both groups seem to be going to great lengths to stay in touch and keep the community going. […]
