Day 17

Read PSALM 103:1-12

Have you ever thought about things that sing? Pop stars sing. You can sing. You might have a toy that plays songs that you can sing. Your parent's phones can play music that sings. Your dog or cat might ‘sing’ if you call that howl or meow singing! But what about trees, mountains, the moon, and stars? Those things don’t sing do they?…Or do they? On the night that Jesus was born, so amazing is his birth that a great number of angels appear to the shepherds in the field and sing. Angels sing! But it is not only angels that sing. Psalm 96 says that the heavens rejoice, the sea resounds, the fields are jubilant, the trees of the forest SING for joy in response to how amazing our Lord is. Jesus and all that he has done in coming to earth at Christmas and growing up to rescue us from our sins is a reason for everything in creation to sing songs of joy. This Christmas, take the time to play your favourite Christmas carol about Jesus and sing at home as loud as you can in praise to Jesus.
